Maybe you could create a Photobucket account and upload link or embed pictures?

Yes, you'll need to host the picture somewhere then click the photo icon in the post control bar.

The "From URL" tab will allow you paste in a direct link URL.
uncheck the box that reads "Retrieve remote file and reference locally".
Click "Ok" and that should do it
