Interesting, thanks for the info. It may be worth seeing if Tesco would price match Asda? I am not sure what Tesco price policy is but no harm in asking. Deluxe are seriously overpriced at £12 but surprisingly Tesco Cars singles are the cheapest around at £5 each. It must have been VERY hard walking out of the store without them. Well done for resisting!

Toys R Us are the latest stores to get the Mama Bernoulli and Luigi/Guido Headset singles case (998W).
Toys R Us have also got a new Radiator Springs Classic case!
I picked up singles Mama Bernouilli, Luigi/Guido Headsets along with RSC Constanza Della Corsa and RSC Dirt Track McQueen.
The RSC singles are now £4.99 at TRU. It looks like there are two of each Costanza and DT McQueen in the case?

Sales of Cars traditionally increases this time of the year, so the latest international singles case 998W will find it's way around very quickly. Before you know it, 998Y will be here. Until now, ASDA have got most of this years cases on a first to market basis, followed by most of the other major retailers.
It remains to be seen if that happens again or we get two cases simultaneously in stores? It was quite rare for Sainsbury's and Tesco to have the same case but as Tesco has scaled down their non-food departments (and replaced many of their cafe's too) someone had to step in and take some of Tesco's allocation (unless Mattel reduced the production run)?
My guess is that Mattel reduced the production run, maybe from average 2,000 of each case to 1,500. Tesco used to order big. Even in the dark days of 2012, Tesco ordered 5,500 cases plus clipstrips for the Christmas market. I don't see them doing that now! Cars and toys is one example why Tesco have got it all horribly wrong. Many stores had two or three cases up on the top shelf. Now there isn't a top shelf and quite often the actual shelves are devoid of any cars!
